报告题目:The molecular and physiological aspects of bean production Technologies in Thailand

人:Dr. Kamolchanok Umnajkitikorn

From Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand

Assistant Professor Kamolchanok Umnajkitikorn got her Ph.D in Horticulture and Agronomy at University of California, Davis, USA under the guidance of Prof. Eduardo Blumwald. In 2018, Asst. Prof. Umnajkitikorn started her career as a lecturer at School of Crop Production Technology, Suranaree University of Technology, Thailand. She continued her works in plant stress response in rice with collaboration with Kagoshima University. In 2021, she got promoted to Assistant Professor in Plant Sciences. Currently she extended her work to genome editing in mung bean, plant-microbe interaction and plant response to light quality, as well as viticulture and cannabis production.

报告主要内容:

Drought stress constrains legume production in Thailand. We integrated physiological seed technology with molecular gene editing in soybean and mung bean. Seed coating with Bradyrhizobium USDA110 and AVG or IBA enhanced nodulation, nitrogen fixation and drought tolerance. In response to the growing demand for functional foods, mung bean transcriptomics was used to identify candidate genes closely involved in seed starch biosynthesis, while gene editing and an efficient regeneration system enable resistant-starch improvement.
